Top-notch image processing in a compact space

A compact Vision sensor offering comprehensive performance and a wide range of new integration options

Measuring 25 mm x 45 mm x 53.7 mm, the new CS-52 Vision sensor from di-soric is one of the smallest in its class. With a very short focal length of 3.6 mm, the compact sensor enables extremely short working distances. With a simultaneous resolution of 3.2 megapixels, the CS-52 is recommended across industries for applications that previously lacked sufficient installation space for image processing solutions. For example, in small test cells, during assembly processes or as part of retrofits where the compact Vision sensor finds a wide range of new applications. When used in conjunction with di-soric's easy-to-use nVision-i 26.1 control software, users can meet virtually any requirement without any programming knowledge.

Equipment manufacturers across all industrial sectors find the CS-52 to be a versatile and cost-effective image processing sensor that covers the entire range of possible localization, recognition, counting and measurement tasks. With its ultra-compact design, space-saving cable whips, and focal lengths of 3.6 mm, 8 mm, 16 mm, and 25 mm, the high-performance CS-52 is ideal for use in confined spaces. For example, di-soric's smallest Vision sensor can be mounted directly on a robot's screwdriver tool to achieve maximum positioning accuracy in the shortest cycle times.

In situations where image processing systems have not been used to date due to space constraints, the CS-52 offers a wide range of options—for example, as part of retrofit projects—to easily and cost-effectively retrofit image processing capabilities. Companies use this to increase the performance and process stability of their existing systems. The CS-52 can be integrated into even the smallest machine rooms or onto a robot tool. This is how the CS-52, retrofitted with minimal effort on an assembly line , reliably checks whether every sleeve has actually been fitted with an O-ring (see Figure 2). The exceptionally short focal length of 3.6 mm proves to be an advantage, as it enables extremely short working distances that would be virtually impossible to achieve with many other Vision sensors.

The innovative nVision-i image processing solution from di-soric, which has been proven over many years, stands for versatility, simplicity and flexibility in use. Thanks to the clearly structured, self-explanatory user interface, users and integrators without programming knowledge are able to implement image processing tasks on their own. With its comprehensive range of tools, nVision-i offers far more than just simple object localization, detection and counting: Depending on the task at hand, users use the available tools to measure, for example, distances, angles or diameters of objects and components. Additional lighting is available for longer working distances.

Image data, measurement results and test results are processed in the nVision-i software and transmitted to the control level via standard protocols. An integrated smart tool allows you to link individual tools together. If necessary, measured values can be corrected or modified, contributing to ongoing process optimization. In addition, the data collected is used for quality assurance and to prepare trend analyses.

A rugged housing effectively protects the CS-52 Vision sensor from dust. The supported industry protocols are Digital I/O, TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP/SFTP and Ethernet/IP The new CS-52 Vision sensor from di-soric is future-proof and was developed in accordance with the requirements of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
